The elders have approved a revised, reduced-scope, prioritized building plan designed to address College Church's primary ministry needs and key safety concerns.
Total Estimated Cost (Phase 1): $3.3 million
This plan is directly aligned with the congregation’s 2024 five-year strategic vision:

II. Project Structure
Following congregational feedback after the November presentation, the original proposal was divided into two phases.

- Rock House replacement
- Auditorium renovation
- Balcony and lobby improvements
- Safety enhancements
- Restroom expansion
- Room 100 improvements
Phase 2 — Future Consideration
- Construction of additional classrooms on the east or west side of the auditorium

III. Phase 1 Priorities
A. Rock House Replacement
College students represent one of the most significant mission opportunities in Searcy. Constructing a new Rock House on the edge of the Harding campus strengthens the church’s commitment to discipling and equipping future Kingdom leaders.

B. Expanding Worship Capacity
- The plan includes:
- Replacing pews with flexible individual chairs
- Increasing effective seating capacity by more than 20%
- Expanding total worship capacity to approximately 1,600 (including overflow in Room 100)
- Replacing carpeting
- Repainting the auditorium

C. Safety & Accessibility Improvements
Additional updates include improved lobby flow, removal of existing stairwells, construction of a balcony catwalk, and enhanced fellowship space.
D. Room 100 Improvements
- Improvements include:
- Construction of two new fire-rated staircases
- Improved balcony circulation and access
- Safer entry and exit pathways
- Expanded Restroom Access:
- New men’s and women’s restrooms on the first floor
- A new family restroom on the first floor
- New men’s and women’s restrooms on the second floor serving the balcony
Additional updates include improved lobby flow, removal of existing stairwells, construction of a balcony catwalk, and enhanced fellowship space.
D. Room 100 Improvements
- Planned updates include:
- Kitchen renovation
- Addition of a family restroom
- Updated interior finishes




IV. Financial Commitment & Conclusion
The approved plan strengthens the college ministry, expands worship capacity while preserving unity, improves safety and accessibility, enhances fellowship space, and positions College Church for continued Kingdom impact.
The elders, staff, and several other individuals have already pledged $1.8 million toward this project—approximately 55% of the total need.
